A Twitch TV spokesperson claimed that passwords had not been exposed in a statement released on Friday US time. They claimed that they’re confident that no login information was compromised, nor their bank details, especially those connected with bcrypt.. As iTWire reported last Thursday, news of the leak was posted on the 4chan website, and security researcher Troy Hunt released a list of the files leaked on GitHub.

Twitch TV said in a statement on Friday that it had reset all streamer keys after the leak and advised them to update their keys. Spokesperson made it clear that only a small percentage of users were affected and those who have been directly affected have already reached out to them. This hacking incident was the result of a server configuration change that allowed unauthorized third party access and their IT team has quickly resolved the configuration issue and have protected their system.
