Apex Legends streamer and ALGS competitor Nick ‘NICKMERCS’ Kolcheff recently revealed his key tips to improve as fast as possible at Respawn’s Battle Royale, which where he claims taht it allowed him to rise to top.
NICKMERCS’ meteoric rise from Apex Legends newcomer to Global Series competitor has been nothing short of remarkable, with the former Fortnite and Gears of War pro illuminating Respawn’s battle royale’s competitive scene.
He’s previously discussed why he felt compelled to return to competitive gaming, but in an April 23rd live stream, he shared his thoughts on how he – and other Apex Legends players – can quickly improve.
Nickmercs explained how he changed his gameplay to ensure he improved as quickly as possible when asked by a viewer what the best way to improve at Respawn’s BR is.
In short, it boils down to playing at the highest possible tempo and challenging opponents whenever possible. While it won’t get players the most wins – that will come from a conservative playstyle and looting up – it will get them the most improvements in overall gameplay.
Even if it isn’t guaranteed wins at first, it appears to have worked for the Twitch behemoth.
