Twitch’s risky and divisive TV show meta drew mixed reactions from streamers, with many refusing to participate. Nicholas “NICKMERCS” Kolcheff of Twitch is one of the streamers who declined fan requests to participate in this meta for fear of a DMCA lawsuit.

By the end of 2021, Twitch’s TV show had picked up steam, with popular streamer xQc leading the meta. HasanAbi and Disguised Toast, two well-known streamers, were also watching TV shows and broadcasting them live. Streamers were big fans of cooking shows like MasterChef and Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmare.

Streamers, on the other hand, could sense the potentially dangerous nature of reaction streams following the 48-hour suspension of prominent star Pokimane from the purple platform. Despite this, many people, such as xQc, stuck to their guns, slamming those who spoke out against TV meta.

NICKMERCS, a streamer, explained why he wants to stick to gaming content like Fortnite and Apex Legends. He wasn’t ready to walk that terrain, despite the demands of his fans, as he pointed out the dangers of streaming copyrighted content.

NICKMERCS was taken aback by the rise in Twitch streams of TV shows. Despite the fact that it has become the new trend, he would not participate in order to jeopardize his career.
