Twitch updated its Extension Guidelines on May 17th to prohibit any off-site links or referral codes to NFT-type websites, in an effort to reduce the presence of NFT-related links originating from Twitch streamer extensions.
The new entry, 4.11, in Twitch’s Extensions Guidelines and Policies’ Content Policy section states that extensions may not display, implement, include, or interact with any non-fungible token. Extensions may not contain off-site links or referral codes to NFT sites, and they may not make it easier to create, list, trade, or redeem NFTs.
The move from Twitch has so far been well received by the wider streaming community, with several Twitter users expressing their approval.
