JGOD, a Call of Duty stats guru recently weighed in on the rumored CoD 2023 delay, claiming that it could have disastrous consequences for Warzone.

As fans of Call of Duty have grown increasingly dissatisfied with the current state of CoD: Vanguard, many have turned their attention to the future and what the next release is expected to bring.

Modern Warfare 2 – a follow-up to 2019’s soft reboot of the Modern Warfare series – is expected to be the next game, but beyond that, Call of Duty is expected to take a different path. According to Bloomberg, the 2023 title will be delayed, resulting in a gap in CoD’s usual annual release cycle.

There have been rumors that a new free-to-play title will fill the void, with many speculating that it will be Warzone 2. However, YouTuber JGOD has some reservations if this is the case.

The Warzone stats guru compiled some of the recent leaks and rumors about the future of Call of Duty and Warzone in his February 24th video, and what it could mean.

Warzone, according to JGOD, could be left in the dust if the annual release cycle is broken.

According to the YouTuber, there will be almost “no new content” for Warzone until Warzone 2 is released, which could put the game in “limbo” for a while.
