To combat long queue times and server saturation, Amazon Game Studios has recently announced the addition of a new feature that prevents New World players from creating characters on popular servers.
The debut of New World has without a doubt, been massive. However, the large number of people attempting to join the servers, which are now capped at 2,000, has resulted in long queue times that sometimes last hours. Aside from this, individuals who were lucky enough to get in are devising ingenious ways to avoid having to queue again. However, the issue is that it is lengthening queues much further than they were before.
Because of this, the engineers have been working very hard to add new servers and expand the population capacity.
According to them, 40% of their servers have short wait times. They’re also developing a server transfer system that will allow players to switch between popular servers.
Also, on October 2, the developers revealed that a new functionality will be implemented that will notify if a server is full. It also makes it impossible for gamers to create new characters on them. They stated; “We have been working hard to increase the number of servers and increase the capacity of all available servers. We are also implementing a system to prevent new players from creating new characters in full servers.”
For now, 28 servers have already been classified as “Full” as seen on the official server status website.
