A pickpocket recently approached IRL Twitch streamer Jinnytty as she was walking through Amsterdam.

IRL content creators are a prime target for thieves since they are frequently preoccupied with reading chat and adding input. A pickpocket also attacked MeesterKeem, an IRL Twitch streamer, in February, but he was able to quickly get his money back. One of the most popular female Twitch streams in 2022, Jinnytty has around a million followers right now. Additionally, she has received two nominations for Best IRL Streamer at The Streamer Awards. Along with occasionally playing games like Hearthstone, the South Korean content creator also attracts viewers by taking them to various intriguing places. She has broadcast from the US, Taiwan, Korea, as well as a number of locations in Europe, including Poland, Norway, and the Netherlands.

On July 21, Jinnytty was wandering the streets of Amsterdam when she stopped for a short while to talk with two random people who engaged with her Twitch chat and appeared pleasant. After leaving them, a third man came up to Jinny and claimed to have seen the two men attempting to pickpocket her while she was preoccupied. The perpetrators had their hands in Jinny’s luggage, the man claimed.

The Twitch streamer argued that she didn’t have any critical items in her purse, but the man rebuked her for being distracted by her phone and warned her against filming strangers. Jinny “should learn that kind of stuff,” he said, as the content producer thanked him and left.

Jinny took a moment to rummage through her bag and confirmed that she didn’t believe anything had been stolen, even though the purported pickpocketing attempt was not captured on camera. She mentioned that her phone, which she constantly has in her hand and a lanyard around her wrist, is her most priceless item. The Twitch streamer lamented, “I cannot even talk to people and interact with people peacefully. I have to worry about people maybe pickpocketing me whenever they’re talking to me?”

Jinny then inquired as to why pickpocketing was such a prevalent issue in Europe, adding that given her upbringing in Korea, she found it challenging to comprehend. However, this isn’t the streamer’s first run-in with prospective criminals. A mysterious man stalked Jinnytty for almost four hours in April 2023 while she was streaming on Twitch IRL in Taiwan, the most recent time she had been followed by a stranger online.

Although he kept his face hidden, he was occasionally seen by spectators, and once he was even discovered hiding behind a bush. Jinny became so frightened that she eventually called the police, who took the unidentified man into custody.
