Twitch Streamer Greekgodx believes he was barred because of his twerking, not because he advocated for women to give up their careers to cook and clean for him.
Nowadays, a lot of people dream of becoming full-time Twitch streamers. Being paid to play video games and have conversations with people all day has a lot of appeals. You’d think that once people reached the top tiers they would settle down and not cause a scene and lose their jobs, but you’d be wrong.
A ban has just been imposed on Twitch streamer Greekgodx, real name Dimitri Antonatos. Some people think it’s because of his incredibly sexist rant, despite the fact that he claims it’s for twerking on stream and breaking the company’s sexual content policy.
To any women who wanted to date him, “especially female streamers,” he sent an antiquated message.
For some reason, he hasn’t thought about how they could just hire a personal chef, cleaner, and nanny to do all the work he expects the partner to do instead of using the combined income from him and his future partner. He says it’s “called working together,” but the woman does the housework for free in exchange for board and lodging, and he works to earn money that he can use however he wants.
It is a profoundly sexist idea of what a relationship should be, and it effectively makes women dependent on men who earn money.
He doesn’t seem to have considered the fact that if he were to get banned once more and had forced his partner to stop streaming, they would be total without income, his attacks on streamers Mizkif, which are against Twitch’s terms of service, could be another reason for his ban. To avoid future confusion, the company is working to send videos of the prohibited behavior along with emails that prohibit it.
