The 17-year-old British player, who represents FaZe Clan and has more than 2 million Twitter followers, 4.5 million YouTube subscribers, and more than 5 million Twitch followers, is the talk of the town.
He came in first place on Twitter’s list of the most talked-about esports athletes in 2021, ahead of fellow Fortnite players Bugha (USA) and Benjyfishy (UK), who came in second and third, respectively.
Rekkles, who now plays for Karmine Corp and wears the number eight jersey, was the fifth most talked-about esports player of the year.
Loud topped the list of most talked-about esports teams, followed by FaZe Clan, Pain Gaming, G2 Esports, and London-based Fnatic.
FaZe Clan, G2 Esports, 100 Thieves, TSM FTX, and Loud were the esports teams with the most video views on Twitter (in order).
The United Kingdom came in eighth place on a list of countries that talked about games the most on Twitter in 2021, with Japan, the United States, and South Korea rounding out the top three.
When it comes to esports leagues, the CBL was the most talked-about last year, the League of Legends Esports Twitter account had the most video views, and the Fortnite Competitive Series had the most Twitter followers gained in 2021.
