Facebook has officially changed its name to Meta, a term that gamers are all too familiar with.

Instagram, Whatsapp, and other significant brands are all under the umbrella of the world’s most popular social media network. However, the organization will continue under a new name with great ambition in the future.

On October 28th, Facebook revealed that the new name is Meta. Of course, in the gaming world, this is a well-known reference. Each game has its own meta, which is the best or most efficient method to play the game.

Following months of enormous investment in their own Facebook Gaming brand, which included exclusive streaming arrangements with numerous Twitch streamers, this might be Mark Zuckerberg’s next step to appeal to gamers all around the world. It could also just be a coincidence.

Zuckerberg stated; “I know that some people will say that this isn’t a time to focus on the future, and I want to acknowledge that there are important issues to work on in the present. There always will be. So for many people, I’m just not sure there will ever be a good time to focus on the future. But I also know that there are a lot of you who feel the same way that I do. We live for what we’re building. And while we make mistakes, we keep learning and building and moving forward.”

He confirmed that VR will be able to make Messenger calls.

The social networking platform, Facebook, is expected to preserve its original name, and the change will have a broad impact on the parent business, similar to how Google and Alphabet did in the past.
