After spending an absurd amount of time queuing for DPS, Twitch streamer and former OWL star Daniel ‘Dafran‘ Francesca’s return to Overwatch was a complete disaster.
DPS queue times have been a nightmare for many players looking to play damage heroes since the introduction of role-lock. Dafran’s return stream was severely hampered by the popularity of the role.
Dafran is without a doubt one of the most well-known Overwatch players. The Danish actor-turned-farmer is best known for his incredible tracking, aiming, movement, and even trolling skills, which have gotten him into a lot of trouble.
With an Overwatch 2 beta rumored to be on the way, the hitscan legend returned to the first game on February 2nd only to be trapped in long lines, turning his OW broadcast into a YouTube react spectacle.
Francesca was able to play a couple of matches in quick succession, but his third queue took over an hour.
By the time he reached the 60-minute mark, the Danish streamer had mocked Overwatch on Twitter with a screenshot of his time spent waiting.
Fortunately, he was able to find a game during peak hours, but only after spending over an hour reacting to YouTube videos and other Twitch clips. In the end, he only lasted four and a half hours and played six matches.
He was able to get more games, pull off some stylish plays, and even reveal that he would be back on Twitch with a new schedule when he returned later in the day.
Hopefully, we’ll see more of Dafran playing Overwatch in the future, especially with an OW2 beta on the way and a switch to 5v5 that could make queue times much better for everyone.
