Popular Twitch streamer Zack “Asmongold” browsed his official subreddit while conducting a livestream on February 27.

There, his community members commented on the streamer’s heated comments regarding the Ohio train catastrophe. Earlier, the streamer advised residents impacted by the hazardous train catastrophe to think about moving out of their homes.

The Austin, Texas-based content creator expressed anger that people were still obsessed on a joke he made during a recent show after seeing Redditors making fun of it. He deleted a viewer’s post after reading through the thread’s comments and making the assertion that he did not want to witness “this s**t” in front of his audience. Asmongold then expanded on his divisive viewpoint by saying: “If you don’t like what I said, that’s fine. But I’m not wrong.”

Asmongold discovered a post by Redditor u/Bushfries, who wrote, “Just sell your houses and leave Ohio guys 4head (Twitch emoticon),” at the 15-minute mark of his February 27 broadcast. The streamer had responded to a post by an Ohio native who had been impacted by the recent train derailment the day before by making a statement, which was the subject of this allusion. In a fiery tirade, the co-founder of The One True King (OTK) told the audience to “stop crying” and that he didn’t care about their emotions.

Asmongold claimed that people were outraged by his statement after reading the main of the most recent post on his official subreddit. He stated: “People are so upset about… people are still caught up about this. ‘The thing is, you can sell your house if someone is willing to buy it, but in the case of Ohio, who is willing to buy that house that is impacted by this disaster? No one. ‘ I never said to sell the house!”

The World of Warcraft player removed the user’s post from the subreddit after reading a few more fan responses and declaring: “Yeah, guys! Guys, I’m going to be 100% real. I don’t want to see this s**t!”

The streamer reiterated his contentious opinion and quoted an alleged “expert” who allegedly made the same claim. Added him: “I find it so crazy that the expert in that video literally said the same thing that I said, and people are getting mad about it. I agreed with the expert. Watch. We will watch the video right now!”

Asmongold started watching a Vice News broadcast that featured University of Pittsburgh professor of environmental and occupational health James Fabisiak. James Fabisiak responded when asked if he would leave the impacted area: “That would depend. If I had a young child, or if my wife was pregnant… that might put another level of, ‘What I’m going to do about this.’ But by the same token, I need to also consider what my resources are.”

After agreeing with the expert, Asmongold halted the video and said he was “getting pushback”: “Of course! See! He’s clearly saying that he would leave if he had a kid or a pregnant wife. I cannot believe I am getting pushback for agreeing with the expert in the video! ‘ The fact that you’re not an expert.’ I know that I’m not an expert! That’s why I listened to the expert! That’s the whole point! Isn’t that crazy?”
