Asmongold disclosed that his primary Twitch channel might never go online again during a livestream on his alternate channel.
With fellow OTK co-founder Mizkif at the center of an ongoing issue, the owner of OTK Media has recently been involved in Twitch drama. Asmongold has voiced his feelings about the recent Twitch problems surrounding creators like Mizkif, Slick, and Sliker even though he is not directly connected to the Mizkif charges.
The well-known content creator is now unsure about his future participation in the Asmongold Twitch channel. Asmongold made the startling admission recently while playing the Wrath of the Lich King expansion for World of Warcraft Classic on his alternate name, Zackrawrr, on Twitch. In the midst of the OTK controversy, Asmongold stated his own anxieties about returning to the channel, noting that the drama had caused him a great deal of mental anguish.
When writing a tweet for the stream that morning, Asmongold even claimed he was “having a panic attack” at the idea of streaming on his main.
Asmongold has ties to multiple recent Twitch incidents, despite not being personally involved in any of the present scandals. Twitch has banned gambling streams after Asmongold long fought for tighter restrictions on gambling content in live streams or a complete ban on gambling. In the wake of the discovery that the founder had scammed viewers and other streamers of hundreds of thousands of dollars, he has also lobbied for the banning of Sliker.
Additionally, Asmongold and Mizkif, who both served as co-founders of the gaming company OTK Media, are closely related in the aforementioned drama that Mizkif created. One of Twitch’s most popular channels would go black if the main Asmongold account was to sunset.
Since making his YouTube debut in 2009, Asmongold has become one of the most recognizable personalities in streaming, and his primary Twitch account currently has over 3 million followers. His alternate account, Zackrawrr, has slightly fewer than 1 million followers, which is still a good number.
Asmongold has also been recognized as a key figure in the internet gaming community and is believed to have contributed significantly to the rise in popularity of Final Fantasy 14 last year.
