Blizzard’s recent crackdown on boosting services in the popular MMO, according to WoW veteran and popular streamer Asmongold, is a huge step in the right direction.
Blizzard announced on January 31 that instead of allowing people to pay other players to level them up, they would be cracking down on boosting organizations operating within World of Warcraft.
Many players and WoW fans reacted positively to the news, including Asmongold, who stated that the developer’s policy change was the right thing to do.
Asmongold said in a vlog after the changes were announced that he “loved” how Blizzard “took the gloves off” and handled the situation.
The long-time WoW streamer went on to explain why he thinks it’s a good idea to eliminate booster services, which he refers to as “breeding grounds for corruption.”
Blizzard’s policy shifts are already being felt. Players are ecstatic that the in-game trade chat is no longer overrun by bots spamming boosting runs, allowing them to communicate once more.
You’ve probably been bombarded with spam for gold and boosting if you’ve played WoW’s retail or classic in recent years. It’s a step in the right direction, and it gives the community some hope as we get closer to update 10.0 and the next expansion, as Asmongold stated.
