A Call of Duty: Warzone YouTuber went from being a 0.5 K/D bot to a 3+ K/D slayer in just a few months. He’s now shared the warmup routine he used to drastically improve his kill-to-death ratio and start having high-kill games.

Look, we’ve all been there. Nobody is born with superhuman abilities in a first-person shooter, let alone a battle royale. But it’s not about where you start; it’s about where you end up.

That was the case for Twitch streamer Art Is War, who had never played a Call of Duty game or BR before Warzone. And in the beginning, he was an absolute bot — shamelessly explaining that he had a 0.5 K/D.

Art now has a weekly K/D of 3+, and he credits the grind for his success. And the first part of his routine is a simple one that anyone can pick up on: a good warmup routine to ensure he arrived in Verdansk in top shape.

Art explains that when he was trying to improve at Warzone, he focused on four pillars: movement, mechanics, game sense, and gunskill. While his warm-up routine may not help with IQ, it certainly helps with the rest.

In essence, Art creates a custom game to fight bots in Modern Warfare 2019 multiplayer before hitting the BR. Unlimited time, unlimited score, 150 health, no minimap, no killstreaks, and max ammo are the default settings.

He prefers the Speedball map because it is compact, rectangular, and has a wide range of cover options. He also makes the number of bots six and the difficulty “regular.”

He jumps in with a Kar98k and MP5 after setting up his warm up mode (which he has saved for future use). The first is to assist him in practicing centering, while the second is for tracking.

Art uses this routine to concentrate on his gunplay (recoil control, centering, and flicks) and movement. He knows he’s warmed up and ready for Warzone once he feels like he’s in top form, sliding for cover and jump-calling effectively because Warzone runs on the MW19 engine, it’s best to warm up there rather than in Black Ops Cold War. If Warzone Pacific switches to Vanguard’s engine, he suggests following the same procedure but on the new game.
