AverageJonas
Name Origins
He thought it was an apt name, because any average Joe could just start up a YouTube channel and begin uploading whatever they felt like onto it.
Gaming Origins
AverageJonas started playing football in first grade because he thought that it would make him cool. However, he didn’t get along with his teammates and decided to quit in favor of finding something that he really enjoyed. His dad worked as a musician, so he started teaching AverageJonas how to play the piano and guitar. He later learned the trumpet and joined his school’s brass band.
His family got their first computer when he was ten years old. This was his introduction to video games, and he has loved them ever since. When he was in his teens, he and his friends formed a band called Pepsi, which they later changed to Valhalla. However, they disbanded a couple of years later. He then moved on to high school, where he took up electronics because his cousin told them that they were allowed to play Counter-Strike in class. Later on, he discovered sports climbing and still does it today. He then moved on to bench pressing, and eventually competed in it at a national level.
It is therefore unsurprising that he went on to receive a Bachelor of Science in Sport, Health and Nutrition and a Master of Science in Sports Science after high school. While studying, his passion for music was reignited and he began pursuing it again. He then began taking classical voice lessons. He is currently completing his Bachelor of Art in Classical Music and Vocal Performance.
A few years later he landed a position as an opera singer on a cruise ship. Unfortunately, soon afterwards Covid hit and he lost his job.
Professional Gaming
He began uploading music covers to his YouTube channel in February 2013. He only transitioned to gaming content after losing his job as an Opera singer in March 2020 due to Covid, although it was only after being jobless for two months, AverageJonas decided to begin streaming on Valorant on Twitch. This was in May 2020. He soon made a name for himself for his Sova mastery to the extent that by the end of that month he already had 1,500 followers.
He made his casting debut on December 4, 2020 and joined Team Liquid’s streamer team on December 30, 2020. By January 2, 2021, he had amassed over 200,000 followers.
Relationships
He has a brother and a sister.
Income
According to his Twitch chat bot, AverageJonas has around 930 subscribers. This should earn him at least $2,450 USD per month, excluding additional income from tiered subscriptions, casting fees, sponsorships, Twitch cheer bit donations, advertisements and tips.
