Nicholas Kolcheff aka Nickmercs of the Faze Clan has stated directly in response to TwitchCon’s recent COVID vaccine and mask mandate that a Faze event will be doing the opposite.
Kolcheff’s statement comes at a time when TwitchCon recently changed its policy on no masks or vaccination documents in response to criticism, and Faze Clan and Twitch are both hosting events in San Diego, California, this month.
According to Twitch, masks and either a certificate of immunization or a negative COVID test will be required indoors. On the same day, Kolcheff quoted Twitch and tweeted that there would be no mask requirements and no vaccination requirements for the Faze Clan event.
The California government’s website states that while neither vaccination records nor mask mandates are required, they are both strongly advised for attendees two years of age and older at mega-events with more than 1,000 attendees.
Additionally, the state advises that anyone over the age of 18 who plans to attend an event show identification proving their identity as the person to whom any applicable negative test pertains and that they are the owner of the event’s legitimate ticket.
