YouTube sensation MrBeast recently had the perfect response to a fake photo that suggested close friend Chandler Hollow had died, which went viral on Twitter shortly after the image was posted.
Chandler Hollow, 23, is best known for his frequent appearances alongside MrBeast on YouTube, where he has amassed over 8.6 million TikTok fans and an additional 3.4 million Instagram followers.
On March 13th, an image of a photoshopped BBC article claiming Hollow had been “shot dead” began to circulate, eliciting immediate reactions on social media. MrBeast, and especially Hollow, were dubious about the veracity of the story depicted in the image.
Hollow took to Twitter on Monday, March 14th, 2022, to denounce the circulating rumors that he had died, sarcastically tweeting “just found out I died.” MrBeast was quick to notice the fake BBC article, prompting a well-thought-out and overall hilarious response from the YouTuber, who commented, “sorry for making you eat 10,000 pickles in 5 hours.”
Many fans were able to tell that the Tweet was a hoax, resulting in a mixed reaction.
Mark Savage, a BBC music correspondent, responded to the dubious article by saying that it is indeed fake after receiving over 300,000 likes on Twitter. Hollow was then trolled by Savage, who sarcastically tweeted that he wished he was a “BBC MrBeast correspondent.”
MrBeast, along with Hollow, will attend the 2022 Kids’ Choice Awards, where Beast has been nominated for “Favorite Male Creator.”
