Despite the fact that Neon is the most recent Agent to be added to Valorant, Twitch star Michael ‘Shroud‘ Grzesiek believes she lacks the necessary skills to be a viable pick in the current meta.

Agent Neon, Valorant’s newest character, has sparked a lot of interest among the game’s players. The lightning-quick Duelist is known for her ability to leap into action and use her ultimate to electrify opponents.

Despite being Valorant’s fastest Agent, many pro players, including EXCEL‘s paTiTek, have been vocal about her place in the VCT meta.

Shroud added to the conversation, believing that Neon lacks the necessary skills to be competitively viable. Her hyper-aggressive kit and lack of utility are largely to blame.

Valorant’s meta, like most multiplayer games, is constantly changing, with some Agents receiving more play than others. However, one character in particular has gotten a lot of attention: Neon – Valorant’s quick Duelist.

Of course, just because an Agent has a high pick rate doesn’t mean they’re a viable competitor. In fact, Shroud thinks Neon isn’t even close to being meta.

This sentiment echoes Shroud’s previous assessment of Neon, in which he stated that while her kit is enjoyable to use, her overall utility is low when compared to other Agents.

While Neon may struggle to find her place in the professional scene, that does not rule out the possibility of her seeing action elsewhere. It’s unclear whether Riot will make any changes to her gear in the future, but for the time being, shroud believes Neon will be reserved for public matches.
