Although XQc is by no means the ideal role model, the seasoned streamer had some advice for Adin Ross last night when the young streamer said he would begin streaming on Kick.

Although Kick is a more recent platform that is still in beta, it has already been criticism for some of its dubious connections to the gaming business Stake and for lacking moderation. Following Trainwreck’s revelation that he will serve as an advisor for the platform, a number of people criticized it, including former Twitch employee DJWheat, who dubbed Kick a “sham.” From xQc’s vantage point, some of Ross’ behaviors are similar to those of contentious internet personality Andrew Tate. Ross is a well-known supporter and friend of Tate, who has been blocked on numerous websites for his overtly misogynistic actions. Tate is now being held under suspicion of human trafficking in Romania.

He remarked, “He’s trying really hard to emulate the things that are happening to Tate. It’s a really unhealthy rabbit hole to go down. … I don’t think he truly wants it. I don’t think he gets it. This is just my opinion. I don’t think he understands how these things are going to work and what is happening, but he’s still emulating them.”

Ross seems to be taking on some of the traits that Tate has displayed in the past by discussing how he was purportedly suppressed. Tate had numerous issues with social media site bans after expressing unpopular opinions to a wide audience, and xQc seems to believe that Ross is emulating Tate by relying on the idea that Twitch doesn’t want followers to know the truth. In a YouTube video titled “They tried to silence me,” Ross intimated over the weekend that Twitch had stopped him from doing and saying certain things, which he did not divulge. Since then, he has announced that he will begin streaming on Kick, but he also left the option open to return to Twitch if his community preferred the more well-known channel.

Similar to how he did when Trainwreck first introduced Kick to the public late last year, he claimed that he would stream on Kick but that he would also stream on Twitch. Due to a change in the platform’s guidelines regarding partnered and affiliate producers streaming on other platforms that took place last year, both streamers continue to be partners on Twitch.
