Felix “xQc” Lengyel, a popular streamer on Twitch, has updated his followers on his unexpected break from streaming after missing a day due to illness.
Many Twitch streamers have created a schedule specifically for them, where they’ll broadcast for more than 12 hours every day of the week. Of course, that can wear on them and make them require a break of some sort. In contrast, xQc hardly ever takes a rest. Only when he needs to return to Canada or when there are security issues at his home has he been known to halt his routine broadcasts.
The Canadian had maintained his usual streaming hours after the IRL meet and greets, despite a demanding schedule at TwitchCon. He did not, however, go online on October 13 as he had promised. Even though he claimed to not be feeling well, the former Overwatch pro agreed to go live. However, it didn’t occur, leaving supporters in the dark for a while.
Finally, xQc revealed in an update that he was dealing with his illness a few hours later. The streaming star stated, “I’m feeling bad so I bought this test thing and it’s got two lines, right, which is positive. I got another one and it’s positive again. Now, I’m getting absolutely obliterated. Breathing is fine, I have a headache, all my muscles hurt, it feels like getting attacked in the muscles. Yeah, that’s about it. I’ll report tomorrow with more developments.”
Many viewers and other broadcasters sent xQc their best wishes in the hopes that he would soon feel better and will take some time off stream to make sure he is truly prepared to go. We don’t yet know how long he’ll be away from his streams, but we can only hope that he recovers quickly.
