Due to the long wait for Hollow Knight: Silksong, one user has taken to drawing the characters from the series every day until it is released.

Hollow Knight: Silksong is a game that many in the gaming community have been looking forward to playing. While much of the game has already been shown off, Hollow Knight: Silksong has been in development for quite some time, causing many fans to become impatient. One fan, on the other hand, has devised a method of keeping track of how long the game’s development has taken and passing the time until it is released.

The original Hollow Knight was a huge hit when it first came out, and the game is still very popular in the gaming community. Hollow Knight set a new record for the most concurrent players in August, four years after its initial release. Few indie games have managed to maintain such a high level of relevance over time, to the point where even Hollow Knight’s unreleased sequel has influenced players today.

WeeblesJeebles, a Reddit user, has been drawing Hollow Knight characters every day for the past 640 days and has no plans to stop until the release of Hollow Knight: Silksong. It’s impressive not only that the user has maintained that regimen for nearly two years, but also that Team Cherry has taken that long to continue developing the game since its initial announcement.

Given the lack of updates on the development of either game, many have drawn parallels between Hollow Knight: Silksong and Elden Ring. To put things in perspective, WeeblesJeebles has demonstrated how long it has been since the game was announced, as well as how much time has been spent on development since then. In comparison to many other highly anticipated games, 640 days isn’t that long.

The fact that Bayonetta 3 was announced in 2017 but only received a gameplay trailer this week demonstrates how long games can take to develop. The original Hollow Knight was a hugely ambitious game with a wide variety of environments, enemies, charms, unlockable abilities, and other in-game features. If Silksong follows in the footsteps of its predecessor, the amount of content available to players will be similar.

If Cyberpunk 2077 taught us anything, it’s that game development is a time-consuming and methodical process that should never be rushed. Team Cherry is likely to want to get the game as perfect as possible before releasing it. Meanwhile, WeeblesJeebles will most likely continue to draw those Hollow Knight characters for a long time.
