Riot Games has released new gameplay for Fade, a new agent coming to Valorant who specializes in fighting monsters and shadowy ink.

Valorant, dubbed Riot Games’ answer to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, has been a huge hit among hero shooters since its release in 2020. Streamers like Pokimane and IShowSpeed have shown a particular fondness for the game. In its brief existence, the game has spawned a professional scene, with some pro players switching from other shooters to try Riot’s latest offering.

Valorant has received so much attention, Riot Games is constantly adding new content to keep the game feeling fresh. Valorant’s new Agents are one of the ways the shooter keeps players coming back, and Riot has just released a new trailer for the latest Valorant Agent Fade. Fade is the 20th Agent in Valorant, and he is from Turkey. Each Agent is given their own special abilities to help them stand out, and Fade is no exception, as she battles enemies with “nightmare ink” and other mysterious abilities.

A short clip of Fade in action can be seen in the gameplay trailer. However, it does not go into great detail about what her abilities are and instead focuses on how they appear. Fortunately for fans, Riot has detailed descriptions of each of Fade’s abilities. Her E tosses an orb that, after a set amount of time, falls to the ground. The orb will reveal the location of enemies in its line of sight as it hits the ground. Fade’s Q also fires an orb, but when it hits the ground, it locks enemies in place, preventing them from escaping through normal means.

Fade’s two abilities alone appear to give it a unique amount of utility in Valorant matches, allowing it to both reveal and keep enemies in one place.

Fade’s C allows her to equip a Prowler, which is one of her other abilities. The Prowler will move in a straight line and lock on to any enemies it encounters. The Prowler will approach them and close in on enemies, but it can be avoided. Finally, Fade’s X bestows Fear upon her. This sends out a wave of energy that ignores obstacles and walls, leaving a trail of destruction and deafening and decaying opponents in its wake. Fade’s abilities appear to be strong right away, and many fans are expecting her to break the game like the other new Agents in Valorant.

Along with the start of Episode 4 Act 3, Fade will be introduced to Valorant. Valorant’s Episode 4 has been available since the beginning of 2022, and it began with the release of Agent Neon, which completely changed the meta. Fans are now waiting to see if Fade can influence the way Valorant is played.
