Valkyrae began her career by creating a separate gaming Instagram account called “LegendRae,” and she later signed up for Twitch in 2015. The streamer once described how the lessons she learned from her previous relationships helped her find success and eventually succeed in her career.
Valkyrae currently has over 3.3 million YouTube subscribers and won the title of “Content Creator of the Year” at The Game Awards back in 2020. On Instagram, the streamer has a whopping 3.1 million followers. The Twitch celebrity revealed that in order to keep herself busy, she eventually took a job at GameStop and applied for internships.
Since the streamer went through a public breakup and Valkyrae has been open about her previous relationships and what specifically went wrong, the streamer’s private life has come under intense public scrutiny.
Michael “Sonii” Sherman is the ex-boyfriend of Valkyrae. For a while, the two were great friends and on dates, but they abruptly broke up. Michael was soon the target of some shady allegations from fans as a result of this breakup. The two had a lengthy four-year relationship before calling it quits in January 2021. She maintained her love for Sherman despite the breakup, claiming that he had never done “anything wrong.”
She continued by saying that Sonii is a wonderful person and is such an amazing guy and that what happened was more like bad timing, different paths, and different priorities. The streamer acknowledged that their priorities and paths can sometimes be so dissimilar and acknowledged that there were times when she was simply too busy for relationships. Before, the two sparked some reconciliation rumors when a group photo of them appeared again on social media. These rumors, though, quickly died down.
The gaming sensation has previously acknowledged that she has firsthand knowledge of what it’s like to be in a toxic relationship. The Twitch star admitted earlier in 2020 that she had two toxic relationships in the past, not just one. Valkyrae went on to describe how both of her relationships were mentally taxing despite the fact that they were instrumental in teaching her valuable lessons and advancing her career.
Valkyrae acknowledged that she spent about five years in a toxic relationship in college. The streamer even admitted that she had cheated on him but still went back to him. Later, she was confronted by a woman who claimed to be carrying his child while the man was away camping. Added Valkyrae, who had been experiencing a mental breakdown for a week. But she soon made some significant choices as well!
Regarding the 100 Thieves video where she talks about having a crush on her Gamestop coworker who turned out to be gay, the well-known streamer recently made a significant revelation! Valkyrae told her followers that the man had sent her a private message on Twitter.
She went on to say that the man was content with a boyfriend, but she admitted that she still wonders if it is the same man he started dating while they were both still employed at GameStop. In a previous episode of 100 Thieves, Valkyrae recalled how she and her boyfriend were affectionate after two months of dating, which made her realize that he might not be attracted to women.
In the end, he was glad that Valkyrae had been able to assist him in finding himself. He did, however, see the video and contacted Valkyrae through her DMs.
