As World of Warcraft struggles to reclaim its MMORPG throne, some believe that a mobile version of the game could be an option, and Twitch star Asmongold is one of them.

The future of Activision Blizzard’s classic MMORPG, World of Warcraft, remains unknown following Microsoft’s acquisition of the company. While some speculate that WoW will finally be released on console, others have suggested that the franchise be ported to mobile in the same way that Diablo Immortal was.

Twitch star and one of Azeroth’s most well-known faces Asmongold has been quick to discuss a mobile version of WoW – and his response is quite surprising.

Following Blizzard’s announcement of a new survival game in development, many have speculated on whether WoW mobile will be announced next.

Asmongold has a lot to say about why bringing the game to handheld devices would be a good idea, as seen in Towelliee’s discussion. “World of Warcraft mobile would only be successful if you had crossplay with people on PC because you keep everyone’s investment,” he goes on to say. When you introduce WoW mobile, it’s unlikely that a large number of people will want to level up or build a new character in the game. That’s a terrible idea.

It’ll be interesting to see if a WoW mobile game appears as Blizzard slowly lifts the veil on WoW’s next expansion and the possible end of its PC exclusivity. But, until then, all eyes are on Azeroth’s greatest adventure’s future.
