Badges on Twitch are one of the ways that chatters can establish a sense of identity among other members of the community in a given channel, and the Founders Badge is perhaps the rarest of them all.

The white image of the number one (1st) is encircled by Twitch’s signature violet border. It means that someone in the chat is one of the first to support a particular channel.

This badge is extremely rare and can only be obtained early in a channel’s life. For Affiliate channels, the Founders Badge is given to the first ten people who subscribe to that channel. For Partners, the badge will be awarded to the first 25 subscribers.

Viewers can earn the badge whether they subscribe to Prime Gaming or a traditional paid subscription. The only thing that matters is that you’re one of the channel’s first subscribers.

So, if you’re looking for a Founders Badge for a channel that’s already up and running, you’re out of luck. Popular streamers’ channels, such as Ninja, xQc, HasanAbi, and Pokimane, have had their “Founders” badges for years, and no other viewers will be able to get it.

Finding a newer content creator and being among the first to support them will be the only way to earn a Founders Badge on Twitch. You’ll get a Founders Badge at that point, but it’ll only be visible when you’re in that channel.
