A well-known Minecraft streamer, TommyInnit recently expressed his concern about the number of creators who, in his opinion, are attempting to imitate the enormously successful YouTuber Jimmy ‘MrBeast’ Donaldson.
One of the most well-known faces on YouTube is MrBeast. The star is close to exceeding his goal of 100 million subscribers thanks to the rapid growth of his influence.
It’s therefore understandable why a ton of content producers have looked to the 24-year-old for inspiration in the hope of finding YouTube fame. TommyInnit asserts that this might be problematic for creativity on YouTube.
TommyInnit was questioned about his views on YouTube as an art form and the impact that MrBeast has had on the streaming platform in an interview with YouTubers Colin and Samir, and asserted that as a result, everyone has made an effort to resemble Mr. Beast as creators capitalize on the trends he helped to establish. He continued by saying that he is so tired of seeing YouTubers copy MrBeast’s formula. However, he added that it must also be upsetting for Mr. Beast because it has forced him to keep moving forward as everyone else has essentially caught up to him.
He emphasized that the purpose of this was not to disparage MrBeast in any way, but rather to encourage YouTubers to build on their strengths rather than copying another creator’s formula because doing so inhibits their ability to be creative.
TommyInnit acknowledged that he, too, had to overcome obstacles to become successful on YouTube. The platform currently has 11.7 million subscribers, so his efforts clearly paid off in the end.
