Blizzard recently decided to extend the most recent Overwatch 2 PvP Beta, giving players an extra 24 hours of access.

That’s right, just when you thought the excitement surrounding Overwatch 2 was about to end, Blizzard revealed that the Beta would be extended by an additional 24 hours.

Although it’s unclear why they made this decision, it appears to have been well received by game enthusiasts as numerous Twitch streamers announced the additional 24 hours of access yesterday. Since its release, the most recent Overwatch 2 PvP Beta has received positive reviews, despite some complaints about changes made to fan-favorite heroes.

Pre-orders for the Overwatch 2 Watchpoint pack are already available, and the official release date is October 4th. As you may have heard, Blizzard has scrapped the previous model in favor of a new free-to-play one in order to ostensibly attract more players to the game.

However, a change has been made that allows the game to extend its Beta period by 24 hours. As a result, the Overwatch 2 Beta will now end on July 19th at 2 PM EST, 7 PM BST, and 11 AM PST.

Looking through some of the most popular forums on the internet, it’s evident that many players won’t be going back to Overwatch 1 in the interim, demonstrating the popularity of Blizzard’s most recent character-based game.
