The $50,000 NICKMERCS Gauntlet final began November 1st. The event was streamed live on his official Twitch channel, as well as the channels of many of the other participants.

The popular streamer has previously hosted Warzone events, but in recent months has become more involved with the Apex scene. This year’s sponsored tournament encouraged amateurs to team up with Apex pros in order to compete for a piece of the large prize pool.

The remaining $30,000 of the $50,000 prize pool was awarded in yesterday’s final matches. Six teams qualified for yesterday’s tournament from two separate qualifying events, each with a $10,000 prize pool. A total of 14 additional teams have been invited to compete in the said finals.

The six-match main event, which was played in a classic ALGS format that awards points for both placements and kills, featured well-known Apex players competing in the North American Pro League. The tournament website has the complete rules and format.

EMEA’s talented soloQgoats, who play with a popular Bangalore player and Luminosity streamer Shivam Patel AKA “ShivFPS” are among the more well-known participants. Complexity’s ‘ClaraATWork’ also formed a squad with Cloud9’s Zach Mazer and NRG’s Aidan Grodin AKA ‘rocker’, and NRG’s Lindsey ‘LuluLuvely’ is also fielding a team. Clara’s team will be difficult to beat, given that Mazer and Rocker are two of the best players in the Pro League right now, and Clara herself is a gifted player.

The action was broadcasted on NICKMERCS’ Twitch channel and was include commentary from veteran ALGS shoutcasters Jon Kefaloukos AKA “Falloutt” and Guy Blaze.
