With the #TeamSeas initiative, Popular Youtube personality Jimmy Donaldson aka MrBeast is looking to help the world once more, and in just three days, the YouTube sensation has raised over $6 million to clean up the oceans using the internet.

MrBeast’s ambitious goal to earn $20 million to plant 20 million trees by the end of the year may be remembered by those familiar with the YouTuber. The internet smashed the fundraising goal out of the park, and the fundraiser is still receiving amazing donations every day.

MrBeast is seeking to do some more good and topple his previous campaign, once again teaming up with the world’s biggest creators in a bid to raise $30 million for the #TeamSeas effort, which aims to remove 30 million pounds of trash from our oceans.

The internet has surpassed expectations in just three days since the introduction of Team Seas. With plenty of time until the campaign’s finish date of January 1st, more than $6.6 million has been raised, achieving more than 20% of the campaign’s objective.

The Bikoff Foundation, which matched all donations up to $1 million on October 30, made the most recent donation of $1 million. The internet, of course, leaped at the chance to make sure the foundation paid as much as it could. YouTube itself contributed $400,000, as did a number of content creators including PrestonPlayz & Brianna, Milad Mirg, and singer Alan Walker.

All donations to Team Seas will go to Ocean Conservancy and The Ocean Cleanup, two non-profit organizations. The money will be used to fund volunteer clean-ups and the same robots featured in Mark Rober’s movie, which pick up trash flowing down rivers and help to solve the problem.

With such a tremendous showing of support in the early days of Team Seas, it appears that the effort will easily surpass its $30 million objective.
