On Twitch, a Pokemon GO streamer experienced harassment while she was live. The English content creator j0beats is well-known for her Pokemon GO and IRL feeds, where many of her viewers watch her scouting out potential Pokemon locations
A new paths feature that records players’ walking paths was recently made public by the game. Pokemon GO is an augmented reality mobile game that was first made available in 2016. Players may seek for and capture Pokemon wherever they go. Despite Niantic facing criticism for the contentious Remote Raid update, it is still one of the top mobile games worldwide. Many content producers use Pokemon GO as their game of choice as they lead their viewers on an adventure while searching for Pokemon. They occasionally even have fascinating interactions with both kind and strange people.
Unfortunately, while streaming Pokemon GO on Twitch, j0beats encountered the latter when a man attempted to kiss her. She posted a video of her talking to two men on Twitter, and when she had her eyes closed, one of them leaned in.
The streamer was unharmed and the males departed right away after the incident, but she said that she “didn’t appreciate” what had happened. She thanked the folks who tweeted their support and worry after seeing the harassment during her stream and later tweeted that she had already reported the matter to the police.
She continued, saying that although she carried a panic alarm, she was “more ashamed than anything at the time” and was unable to activate it. Many fans and other Pokemon GO streamers were expressing their love and support for j0beats in the answers. One person stated that such filthy behavior was unacceptable both on and off camera, and j0beats agreed, pointing out that some individuals appeared to believe that harassing someone just because a camera was on them was appropriate.
Additionally, Summit1g has previously experienced harassment while streaming Pokemon GO, as he did so while enjoying himself in a public park.
Some Twitch streamers receive swatting abuse from viewers, as well as strange presents. This is why streamers should exercise extra caution and make sure they don’t provide any personal information in order to protect themselves, especially those that produce IRL video. In case of an emergency, having self-defense equipment like j0beats’ panic alarm might be beneficial.
