A TikTok video of a Call of Duty streamer using a recorder instead of a controller and doing quite well with it has surfaced.
Players are increasingly pushing themselves to master games using controllers that aren’t actually controllers. A streamer is currently getting snipe kills on a recorder, following examples of people playing Doom on the piano and defeating Elden Ring on a dance floor.
Twitch streamer DeanoBeano uses the tool to line up kills in Call of Duty in the clip, which first appeared on TikTok. The recorder doesn’t have the most aesthetically pleasing sounding instruments. Many people associate it with unpleasant memories of music lessons in which the classroom was filled with the sounds of breathy, off-key screeches. At least in this instance, the infamous sound serves a humorous purpose.
DeanoBeano aligns his sights on an enemy darting around in the distance with a few timed puffs. A short while later, the streamer kills the opposing player with a shot and a sharp whistle.
Even though it’s difficult to tell from the brief clip how effective he was for the remainder of the match, it’s still impressive. From now on, catch me in the woodwind-only waiting areas.
