In Dr Disrespect’s recent YouTube stream, he criticizes EA for what he claims is the company’s reaction to his permanent Twitch ban.
Given how long ago Dr Disrespect’s Twitch ban occurred, many may consider it old news but the issue is that it’s a recurring one for his fans and, more importantly, for Dr Disrespect himself. In the time since, Dr Disrespect spoke out about his anxiety over the ban and his discovery of why he was banned, his financial losses as a result of the ban, and more. It’s no secret that the Doc is suing Twitch, as his reputation has taken a hit as a result of all the drama.
Dr Disrespect’s name was dragged through the mud across the internet in the days following his Twitch ban. Many people claimed to know why but couldn’t prove it, while others claimed it had something to do with a criminal element. At this point, it appears to be less likely than ever. Dr Disrespect also revealed that he is “shadowbanned” by EA in a recent stream, and chastised the company for its response to his Twitch ban.
According to Dr Disrespect, he said during his November 12th stream, that he is on an EA shadowban list. Dr Disrespect’s permanent Twitch ban has impacted his ability to work with some companies, and EA may be the worst of them based on his comments. This doesn’t stop him from playing EA games, as he has played Battlefield 2042 and Apex Legends both multiple times since switching to YouTube, but it does mean that his ability to work with some companies has been harmed. Regardless of the reasoning or explanation, “permanent Twitch ban” appears to be a red flag to not work with him.
After all of this, Dr Disrespect would go on to directly criticize EA based on the current situation saying that they have had to deal with so much defamation as a result of the ban and that it’s insane for not being a part of the Battlefield launch. To begin with, he said that it’s been a year and a half and told EA to be don’t pathetic.
He had previously served as a major name and partner for game launch support, such as with Battlefield, and it appears that the loss of genuine working relationships is what he laments the most.
There are a lot of details about this situation that we don’t know about right now. The question here is not so much how Doc found out he was on a shadowban list, but rather whether fans will ever learn more about the truth behind Dr Disrespect’s Twitch ban. In the absence of any real facts, the internet resorted to speculative journalism from the start, which seems to fit the “insane” defamation that Dr Disrespect is allegedly facing and blaming on Twitch.
