Several Twitch streamers have been playing Supermassive’s latest title, The Quarry, since its release earlier this month, and Aris “AvoidingThePuddle” AKA ATP has been playing the game as well.
During a recent Twitch livestream, the Twitch streamer discussed the game and had a few strong words to say about it. He began with a brief review of the game, claiming that the genre (which includes games like The Quarry) was never good in the first place.
On his Twitch channel, Aris is known for playing a wide range of games and is always eager to show off newly released games. When he first loaded up The Quarry on the day it was released, it was the same.
On June 11, the streamer began his gameplay journey, and at the two-hour mark, ATP expressed his strong opinion on the survival horror game, claiming that the genre has always been bad.
Aris then joked about why he decided to play the Supermassive title on stream, claiming that the game had no chance of being good. Before calling it a day, the Twitch content creator continued to stream and play the game for another two and a half hours.
On the streamer subreddit, r/LivestreamFail, a clip of the streamer went viral. There were over 110 fans in the comment section, and several said that the genre’s games were boring to play but entertaining to watch. Some fans remarked on how much AAA games are now selling for.
Some Redditors disagreed with the streamer’s assessment of the game. They believed that the cringe-worthy dialogue and multiple options provided the streamer with numerous opportunities to interact with his audience.
ATP is a well-known figure in the streaming and gaming communities, having started livestreaming on Twitch in November 2016. Aris has played games like Tekken 7, Elden Ring, Demon’s Souls, and Grand Theft Auto 5 during his online career.
