A recent stream of twitch streamer Actually_Stephen didn’t go quite well after he was attacked by a stranger on stream while he was in the arcade.
There are many things that can happen when a streamer is streaming IRL or streaming outside. Live streaming in public has come to be a sort of ethical debate over time with some people believing that there’s nothing wrong with streamers streaming in public, and people have no reason to be annoyed by it unless they are actively being filmed without their consent.
However, others believe that streamers should not do it, since people may not be comfortable appearing on camera.
Twitch streamer that goes by the name Actually_Stephen has an unexpected experience that happened during his recent stream as a stranger rages at him for filming.
During the stream, Actually_Stephen was live streaming at an arcade when his camera caught the notice of a stranger. Upon seeing the camera, the man started attacking the streamer making everyone in his chat worried about the streamer telling him to move away. The man kept asking the streamer if he took permission to film stating; “Did you ask? Did you get permission to do this s**t?”
Actually_Stephen tried explaining and kept on apologizing, but the man was already quite angry about the fact that he was being filmed without his consent. The clip of the stream has already been posted on the popular subreddit receiving a mixed response. Some stated that they think that the man had overreacted while some sided with the stranger stating that the steamer was filming in an arcade full of children, which parents can obviously consider unsafe if they are unaware of the streamer’s identity.
