To everyone’s surprise, LA Guerrillas won the Call of Duty League Major 2 event, thanks in large part to Kris ‘Spart’ Cervantez’s meta-breaking Volk loadout.
While most CDL players have stuck to just two guns this season — the MP40 and Automaton — the meta at Major 2 was a little more varied, and it had a significant impact on the final standings.
During the first Major cycles of the season, the Volk had not seen any professional play until Spart stepped in for LAG, pulling it out for certain maps and modes.
Spart chose the T1 Flash Hider over the F8 Stabilizer, which is a staple in Vanguard assault rifle loadouts. This gives the gun more recoil reduction and his appearance for LAG at Major 2 was unexpected enough, but winning it with an outstanding performance was almost unthinkable at the start of the tournament.
It’s well worth trying out this Volk loadout if you want to shake things up and dominate like the pros in Vanguard before they try to get the gun banned.
