After being accused of cheating, a top Halo Infinite player has been suspended.

The esports team Sentinels professional player Royal2 recently competed in a Halo Championship Series event, but was discovered to be geofiltering, meaning that it allowed him to block out high-ping servers and, as a result, force your opponents to play on servers with higher ping. There were also suspicious lobby connection issues throughout the matches, which caused the qualifying round to be delayed for more than four hours.

Following protests from other players who examined various Twitch streams and player ping, the HCS conducted an investigation into possible server manipulation and discovered that from November 26, 2021, the NA Open Series 11-27cday before, to the last match of the NA Kickoff Qualifier 12-1 on December 3, 2021, all US servers except one (westus2) were missing from the server ping list, forcing all of Royal2’s matches to be rescheduled.

Royal2 has been barred from participating in any game competitions until January 28, 2021. Sentinels teammates were also penalized as a result of his cheating, with their seeded position removed and points docked.
