During a VALORANT marathon live recently, FPS streamer iiTzTimmy was banned.
The streamer received a temporary ban for smurfing in rank while on the way to Radiant, however it was only temporary. After a minor break seventeen hours into the stream, iiTzTimmy assumed it was a client fault, but after shutting and reopening the game, he accepted he had been banned “for cheating.”
Within minutes of being banned, the streamer contacted a VALORANT developer with whom he claimed to have communicated before to the stream. Timmy claims that the dev informed him that his account would be banned, but that it wouldn’t happen until after the stream.
Timmy explained to his chat; “I got banned for smurfing, unfortunately. I shouldn’t get banned, I should be able to finish this marathon. It isn’t cheating, chat… The whole challenge from Iron to Radiant is a little grey area. You know the whole smurfing… it’s in a really weird area. My agency will be talking to Riot now so I just have to wait.”
Timmy’s account was reactivated an hour after the suspension went into effect, and the streamer resumed his activities. Even better, the last game he was taken from did not count against his record. The marathon run is still going on as of this writing, and the streamer is now on Immortal One, not far from his Radiant goal.
