In Call of Duty: Warzone, there’s a sniper scope that completely removes the glint from Vanguard snipers, and it’s making the battle royale a little overpowered.
Sniper rifles have always played a significant role in the battle royale meta since the beginning of Warzone. Long-range weapons are an important part of the arsenal because Verdansk and Caldera are so large, and most of them have one-shot potential.
They must, however, be balanced, just like everything else. One way to accomplish this is to have a glint appear to reveal a sniper’s position, giving you a moment to react before being shot at.
However, it hasn’t always been easy on that front, as players have devised ways to avoid the glint appearing. While the developers have previously addressed a few of these issues, it appears that a new one is on the way.
Warzone content creator IceManIsaac mentioned in his March 21 YouTube video that the Vanguard snipers have an optic that eliminates glint entirely.
The optic in question is the ZF4 3.5x Rifle Scope, and the magnification prevents it from having a glint.
As the YouTuber points out, a scope with more than 4x magnification will glint, so the 3.5x hits the sweet spot between range and not giving away your position.
The NRG content creator stated that he was bringing attention to the overpowered attachment in the hopes that it would be patched, but that people would continue to use it in the meantime.
According to WZRanked statistics, the optic has seen some use to this point, but it still lags behind some of the other options. However, expect this to change in the not-too-distant future.
