NICKMERCS recently urged Warzone players to “get a grip,” claiming that the Call of Duty battle royale has fallen behind its competitors in recent weeks.
The battle royale scene has never been more competitive. The decision to include a Zero Build mode in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2 has revitalized Epic’s take on the formula, while Apex Legends has a dedicated fan base of passionate players.
Meanwhile, technical issues and unbalanced weapons continue to plague Warzone, preventing the CoD BR from reaching its full potential. Despite the positive reception to Season 2 Reloaded, many fans are still dissatisfied with the game’s current state.
Streamers have also expressed their dissatisfaction with the game since its relocation to Caldera. NICKMERCS, a Twitch superstar, recently slammed Warzone, claiming that there is no reason to choose it over the competition.
NICKMERCS began discussing how Apex Legends and Fortnite have outperformed Warzone in recent months during his April 4th Twitch stream. He quickly erupted into a tirade, urging players to abandon Caldera.
Nick has made no secret of his preference for Apex Legends over Warzone since abruptly leaving CoD BR in August of 2021. Since moving to Apex, he’s dabbled, but even the move from Verdansk to Caldera wasn’t enough to entice him back in.
Raven has added a lot of new content since then, including Redoploy Ballons from Apex Legends, but it appears that none of it has changed his mind about Warzone.
NICKMERCS, like many other players, has been anticipating Warzone 2 and laying out what it needs to succeed. Perhaps a clean slate will be enough to entice the legendary streamer back on board.
