When MoistCr1TiKal learned that xQc had been watching The Dark Knight during his stream on Kick, he expressed disbelief and said that he likely has “Kick suits sweating.”
On June 16, Kick announced the signing of Twitch star xQc to their platform for more than $70M in one of the largest live streaming deals to history. But less than three days later, Felix ‘xQc’ Lengyel ran the risk of being banned from the website after streaming The Dark Knight. YouTuber MoistCr1TiKal responded to the news live, saying Felix probably made Kick’s upper management nervous about the possibility of receiving a DMCA from Warner Bros.
Moist discovered that xQc was at risk of violating the DMCA on Kick when researching the sudden disappearance of the OceanGate submersible on his Twitch live stream. “What the f*ck? That’s ill-advised I would imagine,” Moist said. “You’ve got some suits at Kick right now f*ckin sweating.”
Given that staff members interrupted xQc’s stream to ask the celebrity to stop streaming the movie, it is safe to assume that some “suits” at Kick were indeed made to perspire. Felix, however, appears to have ignored Kick staff’s suggestion because xQc started watching full episodes of Breaking Bad just two days after streaming The Dark Knight. The internet sensation has already streamed TV series and movies, having played a significant role in the TV Meta on Twitch in 2022.
The Juicer even tried to work with the famous chef while streamers were watching shows like Gordon Ramsay’s Masterchef competition. It’s unclear if xQc will continue to take DMCA risks on the platform, but we’ll keep you informed if he does.
