Back in 2017, Twitch banned streamer Andy ‘MexicanAndy’ Martin. But now, it appears that the platform has recently lifted his suspension after four years.
MexicanAndy was banned on Twitch in July 2017 for breaking the platform’s Terms of Service, as a part of the crew of also-banned Ice Poseidon. Despite the fact that Ice, Andy, and the rest of the gang were considered controversial due to their content style and the controversy that surrounded them, they had a lot of success on Twitch and, after their subsequent bans, YouTube and other platforms.
For the most part, fans have assumed that Ice Poseidon and his cohort would never return to Twitch – but it appears that the tide is turning.
Mexican Andy tweeted on October 22, 2021, saying that his four-year ban from Twitch had finally been lifted. He exclaimed, evidently taken aback by what he was witnessing; “Is this real? Actually unbanned on Twitch after 4 years and 3 months.”
Alongside it was a screenshot of his Scufious Twitch channel, which was still active and showing off his 12k followers, just as he left it in 2017.
Andy hasn’t streamed on his restored Twitch channel as of this writing, but it’s just a matter of time before he does. However, this isn’t Andy’s first appearance on Twitch after his suspension. Andy — and everyone else — were left perplexed when Twitch used a clip of his in an advertisement in 2019.
It’s also given many fans optimism that, in the near future, personalities like Ice Poseidon may make a triumphant return to Twitch. Some streamers, though, are confident that this will never happen.
