Popular streamer LilyPichu will voice the Curious Courier skin for Change in a new skin coming to Hi Rez Studios’ SMITE.
Since her debut on YouTube in 2011, LilyPichu has established herself as one of the most popular content creators on the platform. Because of her growing online presence and the instant success of Twitch and YouTube streaming network OfflineTV, the streamer has been featured as a voice actor frequently in recent years. Lily has transitioned her streaming ventures into a burgeoning career in voice acting, and she is now set to be featured in another online game. Hi Rez Studios announced on Twitter on Tuesday that LilyPichu would be the voice of the newest skin for SMITE’s Chang’e, dubbed the ‘Curious Courier.’ Chang’e wears a whimsical outfit with bunny ears and a satchel full of carrots in the Curious Courier skin, which looks more like an Easter skin than a Christmas skin. The skin, an exclusive avatar, and some of the game’s premium currency will be released in a bundle in late December, according to SMITE’s official website, with the skin set to release on December 21st.
The LilyPichu skin is the latest in a long line of high-profile collaborations from the Hi Rez MOBA over the last two years. In the year 2020, characters from Avatar: The Last Airbender were added to SMITE as skins for some of the game’s large roster of gods based on various mythologies. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Stranger Things, and, most recently, Transformers have all had tie-ins with the popular MOBA.
LilyPichu has successfully transitioned her own streaming brand into a successful career in the entertainment industry as a whole, following in the footsteps of previous content creators. With the addition of popular YouTubers like Jirard ‘The Completionist’ Khalil to G4 and the frequent collaborations of well-known celebrities and musicians with popular streamers, popular content creators have often looked to expand their success beyond YouTube.
LilyPichu’s recent voice acting roles in high-profile games like Genshin Impact and, most recently, SMITE, should bode well for the streamer’s gaming career.
