Video from Kai Cenat’s tumultuous giveaway in New York City shows him comforting and defending supporters as the chaos developed before being arrested by the NYPD.
The giveaway didn’t go as Kai Cenat had anticipated. As thousands of people descended upon New York City’s streets, what had begun as a well-intentioned effort to give back to his neighborhood descended into anarchy. Although Kai is safe, the NYPD has now accused him of inciting a riot. Video from that day has surfaced showing Kai Cenat assisting a number of people in reaching safety, including comforting a person who was suffering a panic attack and even carrying a young child on his back. It’s not surprising that he had a significant response when he announced he would be visiting the streets of New York City considering he is one of the most popular broadcasters on Twitch and has millions of followers on other platforms.
However, a sea of people greeted those who were hoping to meet their favorite content producer. One fan appeared to be suffering a panic attack as he was unable to breathe due to the chaos around him. Meanwhile, Kai halted to assist his fan. He was obviously still struggling to find his footing, but he didn’t hesitate to offer consolation to anyone who came to see him.
“I just wanted to see you, I can’t breathe,” the fan could be heard saying as Kai asked if they’d taken their medication. He did his best to calm them down in the moment, helping them breathe and making sure they were okay.
In addition, he was observed bringing Junior, a little child, away from the pandemonium and assisting mother Neira (taintedlovex3 on Instagram) in getting Junior to safety while also arranging some gift cards for them. In Neira’s Instagram story, Kai Cenat and colleagues could be heard attempting to guide Junior and Neira away from the crowd while yelling “Let the mother through!” Despite the confusion of the day, Junior seems delighted to have met Kai. He gave me a high-five and also managed to stop me from crying since he is just too cool for words.
Fans of Kai Cenat concur; several of them expressed their support for the streamer by replying to tweets that showed his deeds on that particular day. Kai’s efforts have demonstrated for many that his heart was in the right place and that he cares about his fans, even though the meetup may not have gone the way he had hoped.
