Jake Lucky, a well-known esports commentator, joined the Full Squad Gaming team on Wednesday, becoming a co-owner of the company. Full Squad Gaming is a digital media brand owned by the NRG esports team that primarily publishes short gaming content on platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.

Lucky rose to prominence with Esports Talk and Esports Closet, but he quickly established himself as a leading source of esports news on Twitter. Lucky announced his decision in a stylized YouTube video after announcing on Twitter that he would be joining one of seven possible outlets in the future. With so many options, he decided to go with Full Squad Gaming because he “finally wants to own something.”

Dexerto, Midnight Society, G2 Esports, Facebook, Twitch, theScore, and Full Squad Gaming were among the seven options available to Lucky. The video, like many others, includes an explanation of why the creator made their decision. Lucky, for example, passed on Dexerto because he “wants to do more than just the news,” referring to his Twitter account, where he is quick to discuss esports news.

He whittled down the options to only one option by making small jokes about other brands, such as Facebook’s Metaverse and staying up late to work with the Midnight Society. However, the video also features a sponsorship announcement for Full Squad Gaming from cryptocurrency company Coinbase.

Lucky was quick to speak about the brand’s future after receiving confirmation of the move. For esports and gaming interviews, he mentions “possibly a bus tour, maybe a college tour.” Aside from that, he simply states that more information will be released in the future.

Full Squad Gaming, which describes itself online as “two friends who started a gaming company,” is continuing its esports journey. Prior to signing Lucky, their Twitter feed consisted primarily of the streamer, esports, and gaming-related content. With Lucky on board, the team now has a well-known face to help popularize everything the company does.
