A GTA Online player demonstrated a clever trick for avoiding certain death in vehicles by using the built-in story mode character switch feature and backing out of the prompt.
GTA Online has been around for almost a decade, and players are still discovering new ways to exploit it. One recently discovered one that doubles motorcycle delivery payouts, while another discovered a way to survive massive falls.
However, not everyone is aware of another simple trick that can help you avoid certain death in vehicles, regardless of the circumstances. It’s also simple to do.
On Reddit, a player shared their experience with the trick. They shared a video of themselves on the verge of colliding with a powerline, which would normally result in certain death at the speed they were going.
They activated the in-built story mode character switch feature a few seconds before impact by holding down the down button on your controller’s D-Pad or Alt on a PC keyboard.
This resulted in a black screen asking if they wanted to exit the session, which they quickly did and returned to the game. It came to a complete stop in its tracks, allowing them to escape unharmed.
In the comments section, a few players confirmed that the trick works for them, some of whom have known for years. They also mentioned how useful it is in races when other drivers try to ram you.
They also claimed that on a PC, you could use Alt+F4 to bring up the same prompt in a faster manner.
