A reliable Rockstar Games insider has responded to a report claiming that GTA 6’s story will be expanded over time following its release, explaining what the company has planned for the long-awaited game.
Except for the fact that Rockstar confirmed the game’s development was “well underway” earlier in 2022, not much is known about GTA 6.
Earlier reports and leaks, on the other hand, have given fans a glimpse into how the game will play, including a return to Vice City, new engine mechanics, and a release date.
Insider Tez2 explained what this would entail in response to a request for comment on a Kotaku report from 2020 claiming GTA 6 would start with a moderately sized release that is then expanded with over time regular updates.
Tez2 on the GTA Forums believes that GTA 6 will use a chapter system similar to Red Dead Redemption 2, and that this will affect the map itself.
Furthermore, the insider stated that this would allow Rockstar to complete a major project they had planned for GTA 5’s canceled single-player DLC.
Take all of this with a grain of salt until Rockstar confirms what the next Grand Theft Auto game will be like.
