During his recent live broadcast on Twitch, popular streamer Jeremy Wang aka Disguised Toast went on to explain as to why he came up with the decision to quit Twitter.
Twitter is an American microblogging and social networking service on which users post and interact with messages known as “tweets”. It has become one of the most popular social media platforms in the world. Celebrities, internet personalities, streamers and more have been using this platform to interact and communicate with their fans. Also, they often use Twitter whenever they make some announcements to notify their fans and friends.
However, Twitter has become a toxic place sometimes. It is an environment where everyone can say or express whatever they like, therefore, there can be unhealthy habits that develop out of Twitter including harassment, general negativity, and the addictive nature of the app. And these negatives are elevated even further when you’re a popular personality or well-known figure like Disguised Toast who recently decided to quit Twitter.
Now, during Disguised Toast’s recent twitch stream, he explained why he finally made the decision to leave Twitter. He says that the app is not good for his mental health so he needs to stop.
Here’s what he said; “I should go on Twitter less. That app is not good for my mental health. “I’m addicted to that dopamine when people are talking to me. It’s really bad, I know. I need to stop, I need to figure out a way to use Twitter in a way that’s healthy, that’s not just me scrolling through the timeline seeing all this bulls**t.”
Disguised Toast mentioned that Twitter has its positives, noting that he enjoys getting notified about upcoming game releases and other information he may not know about. However, the sheer amount of drama is keeping the popular streamer from having a healthy experience with the social media platform. For now, despite removing his profile picture and banner, Disguised toast’s Twitter account still has 1.4 million followers and still comes up when searching for Toast’s username.
