Many Twitch streamers have banded together in recent years to play games and socialize in order to avoid these lonely quarantine periods. While this has resulted in some amusing encounters, it is not always pleasant for the streamers.
Twitch streamer controversy still exists on the platform, ranging from harmless trash talking to potentially dangerous scenarios.
One of the most recent examples of a potentially dangerous situation involves Destiny, a Twitch streamer.
Destiny, whose real name is Steven Bonnell, was talking with Ana Vior, who is a fellow streamer. And when Ana Vior developed feelings for him but didn’t get a response from Bonnell, she took to Twitter to accuse him of being abusive to women.
Many Twitch users have sided with Vior and attacked Bonnell, claiming that she is cute and harmless and that Destiny should be grateful that she is interested in him. So, on stream recently, Bonnell reacted to these statements and Vior’s tweet by calling Vior nuts. He also pointed out that if the roles were reversed, she would be a canceled Twitch streamer right away.
It wasn’t Vior’s tweet alone that sparked this response from Destiny. Allegedly, she has been private messaging multiple other Twitch streamers and his friends in an attempt to make him look like the bad guy in the situation. Bonnell states that over the past six months, he has blocked her from all sites. She does, however, continue to message him and his friends in various ways, most likely by making new accounts each time.
However, Vior believes Bonnell should not have been so polite to her and should not have led her on. And that, even if unintentionally, completely comprehending her sentiments for him is still manipulative.
Being nice to someone, on the other hand, does not imply that they are entitled to a deeper love relationship. Bonnell’s conduct obviously doesn’t justify her attempts to enlist the help of all of his friends and coworkers. Or, in Bonnell’s words, to entangle him in a romantic or friendship bond.
Fortunately, many of Destiny’s fans have sided with him and are standing by his side in this situation. Not only that, but others have pointed out how this links to a larger issue of men failing to assist one another when they are victims of violence.
