Internet personality Alissa Violet has filed a lawsuit worth millions against FaZe Clan over a deal from 2018 that promised her shares from a company closely working with the esports organization at the time.
According to a report from the Washington Post, Violet’s case originates from a series of lawsuits she and FaZe were previously involved in against a company. The company in question is Hubrick Limited, whose shares owned by FaZe were promised to Violet in exchange for her shares of Clout Gang. Hubrick Limited was sued by FaZe, Alissa Violet, and others for fraud only to yield a countersuit claiming the same.
However, things between the two did not end on a happy note. Violet, FaZe Clan, Clout Gang, and others sued Hubrick later in 2018 claiming to be a fraud. The company responded by filing a countersuit claiming the same thing. According to Violet’s lawsuit, she and FaZe reached an “oral agreement” to terminate the legal dispute with Hubrick, which required her to sell her firm stock. FaZe allegedly promised her stock in the esports organization to compensate her for the loss.
Violet argues in her case that she never received the promised shares from Faze, which is the basis for this current action — for an undisclosed amount. Violet’s lawyer, Bryan Freedman, said in a statement; “Faze Clan is being sued because it specifically promised to compensate Alissa when it asked her to relinquish her Hubrick stock and asked her to dismiss her claims against Hubrick and others. If Faze Clan simply abided by its promise to compensate her, Alissa would not have had to sue Faze Clan.”
We don’t know how much is being asked, but according to an email from FaZe’s CEO, the organization believes things will be settled without too much controversy. FaZe CEO Lee Trink told the post in an email; “Stories get created out of any disagreement or dispute, big or small. On this particular matter we’re in close communication and confident it’ll be resolved amicably.”
